Var Gallery Presents: Carter Hulsey and Luke Sheafer

Carter Hulsey is an Americana singer-songwriter from Joplin, Missouri who has played hundreds of shows all across the globe over the last decade. Hulsey’s concepts and narratives are inspired by storytellers such as Stephen King, Kurt Vonnegut, and Cormac McCarthy, with musical influences ranging from John Prine and Guy Clark to The Gaslight Anthem. Hulsey’s newest release “Never Left Town” (November 2024) blends his love for country roots and storytelling with a modern music pulse. This is his third record working with producer and co-writer Gooding who captured Hulsey's sound in a new and honest way. Carter is also partnered with the non-profit Funding The Future, which uses music to bring the message of financial literacy to young people in underserved communities around the country.
